INFORMATION
The rulebook possessed by show
superintendent supersedes any rules printed from this site.
General Information
1.
Please look
for changes in General Rules: some have changed from previous years.
2.
Entry Forms
and maps will be online. If the
same animal is entered in both Open and Junior show, please complete separate entry forms for both shows.
Junior and Open Beef Cattle exhibitors who would like to pre-register
please email the following Exhibitor Name, Town, Breed, Date of Birth, and sex
to Tracy Denny at tdenny@chisumisd.org. Market Lamb exhibitors who would like
to pre-register please email the following: Exhibitor Name, address, telephone number and breed (Fine
Wool, Fine Wool Cross, Southdown, Other Medium Wool) to Steve Tucker at stevetucker@earthlink.net. Market Goat exhibitors who would like
to pre-register please email the following: Exhibitor Name, address and breed
to Brad Bassano.
3.
All livestock
entrants are asked to enter the fairgrounds through the west entrance
gates. All livestock should be
unloaded behind the livestock barn.
After livestock has been unloaded, move vehicles and trailers immediately to the designated parking area in the west
parking lot behind the livestock barn.
4.
Parking and
gate passes will not be needed prior to 5:00 pm Tuesday through Friday or
Saturday prior to 1:00 pm. If you
should have a problem at the gates, please contact your show superintendent or
someone in the livestock office.
5.
If you need
additional information concerning any of the shows, please feel free to contact
the chairman listed.
6.
All Livestock
Barns are non-smoking
facilities.
7.
ONLY
exhibitors, judges, show superintendents and ring stewards will be allowed in
the ring during the Red River Valley Fair livestock shows.
General Rules, Open and Junior
Shows
1.
The rules of
the Texas Animal Health commission governing health requirements of exhibit
animal will be followed.
2.
All entry fees
are to be made payable to the Red River Valley Fair Association and mailed to
570 East Center Street, Paris, Texas 75460, along with completed entry forms.
3.
All open
livestock will be released immediately after showing on Friday. Any junior show exhibitors who entered
the open show on Friday may keep their cattle in the barn overnight. The barn will also be open Friday to
all Open and Junior Show exhibitors to stall their animals. Stalls will be on a first come
– first serve basis. Any
stalls found to be reserved in any manner without an animal present will result
in forfeiture of all awards and monies.
No cattle or exhibits allowed in the barn prior to 8:00 am on Friday,
October 3, 2008.
4.
Generators and
trimming chutes are to be outside the building. Exhibitors may provide shavings for
bedding only. No bedding hay
allowed in the barn. No show boxes
or exhibits will be allowed to take up stall space. DO NOT exceed 4 feet per animal!

Show
Rules for American Miniature Zebu Association:
REGISTRATION: Each animal shown in this division must
be registered with the American Miniature Zebu Association and a copy of the
original certificate of registration must be presented to the superintendent prior
to the registration check deadline and kept available at all times during the
show for each animal exhibited.
GROOMING, FITTING
AND SHOWING: All animals must be
clean and brushed. Washing
facilities are located on the fairgrounds. No foreign objects may be applied to the animal to alter its
appearance, no artificial coloring, dye, glitter or additional hair of any
kind. No body clipping, the only
clipping that may be done is around the genitalia, muzzle, ears and horn
base. Horns and hooves may be
polished but not painted. All
animals must be shown in their natural state. Any animals deemed to be a management problem should be
shown with halter AND nose lead.
Horned or de-horned animals are acceptable.
