The entry deadline for both Louisiana State Fair and the Nadu-Zebu Club show is September 15, 2009.

If mailing in your entries, mail both your Friday, Louisiana State Fair entries and your  two Saturday, Nadu-Zebu Club entries to

Entry Deadline and Late fees
:   entries received after Sept. 15th will be $5.00 more, per head.  

Rules: All Miniature Zebu cattle entered in the shows must have their original AMZA registration certificate or a photocopy presented at check-in. 
In order to expedite check in, please send in a photocopy of the AMZA registration papers on all animals entered to show with your entries to Jim Mannos.

Premiums:   The State Fair of Louisiana will be paying $1000.00 in premiums for the AMZA show on Friday.
 
AMZA will be matching the premiums with a total payout of $2,000 in premiums! 
Please mail your Friday and Saturday entries to Jim Mannos.
RememberÉ You must send a separate check for the State Fair entries; they are $30.00 per class!   Very important!

DID YOU KNOW....?
You can print, and may be able to save your filled out entry form on your computer, then mail or email it to AMZA (Jim Mannos) amzareg@aol.com or   jmannos@aol.com  as an attachment,
and go to the paypal using the link above to make the payment for the AMZA shows.
The Louisiana State Fair payment is separate and needs to be done separately with a separate check made out to the State Fair of Louisiana.
The other check is made out to AMZA, or you can use PayPal to pay that. You need to tell Jim what the payment is for in the comment box.  

  Pens & Bedding: Tie outs and initial bedding are included with your State Fair entries at no extra charge. The State Fair also provides the clean up after the shows.

You can bring dividers for tie out pens to separate your animals, feed/tack etc. Feel free to advertise/sell cattle at the fair;
however, you may not bring animals for sale if they are not entered in the show.

The discounted entry fee for the Saturday Shows will be $25 per head per show if received by September 15th. 
ALL entries post marked after September15th will be $30.00 per head. We offer a discount for on time entries as it allows us time to construct a quality show program for our exhibitors.

Exhibitors are encouraged to return their entries by the deadline to ensure that their entries and ads are published in the show program and that tie out areas are assigned.
Please note that more restrictive rules apply to the State Fair of Louisiana entries. Please be reminded that no animal can be shown in the Friday show that is not shown in the show on Saturday.

Saturday Nadu-Zebu Club Show will NOT be paying premiums, we will be giving Rosettes and Trophies.

The 2009 AMZA Futurity Show will be running concurrent with the Nadu-Zebu Club Show The judges will not be conversing during the judging, the Nadu-Zebu Club show, with judge Kathleen Schmidt will be done with reasons and presentations for every class as well as Grand and Reserve Grand Champions.The Futurity Show with Judge Helmut Lekschus, will only have reasons and presentation for the Grand and Reserve Grand Champions.  

Futurity Show Information and Premiums

The Futurity is a new show with premiums paid to the junior animals that are the future of the breed.  We started the futurity to reward our members for their hard work in the improvement of their breeding programs and the ultimate improvement of the Miniature Zebu Cattle Breed. We will paying on two divisions of both Heifer and Bull calf classes.  We divided up the age classes in half to make a fair and equitable playing field for our junior animals. We will not be paying on Steers as they are not reproductive animals and not paying on Senior animals. This is a fully sanctioned show and all wins, both Junior and Senior are AMZA sanctioned classes and all wins are official if AMZA show requirements are met.

$150.00 for each of the Futurity Champions in the following divisions:

Junior Heifer calves- classes 1-3                                         Senior Heifer calves- classes 4-6

Junior Bull calves- Classes- classes 15-16                         Senior Bull calves- classes 17-18

Champion Challenge classes will be free and held immediately after the Cow, Bull and Steer champion classes.

Please use the following class letters for the specialty classes:
(CC) = Color 
(BC) = Breed Character
(BU) = Best Udder
(PS) = Produce of Sire
(PD) = Produce of Dam          
(CT) = Costume

 SATURDAY SPECIALTY CLASSES:  (NADU-ZEBU CLUB SHOW ONLY)  

Note: All Specialty Classes except the costume class will pay $100 to the winner provided there are 4 or more entries per class.
If less than 4 entries, winners will receive $25.

 

CLASSIC BREED CHARACTER CLASS
This class is offered to spotlight the importance of the unique Òbreed specific lookÓ and unique breed character of Miniature Zebu Cattle.
The judge will be considering the breed character ONLY of the animals entered in this class. 

 

COLOR CLASS
Any Miniature Zebu of ANY color or color combination can enter.
This is a FUN class only, and is meant to expose the variety of colors available in Miniature Zebu cattle.
Any age and any color may enter, there is no limit to the number of cattle you may enter in this class!
The Judge will determine the winner, and may pick a panel of NON-CONTESTANTS to help determine the winner.

 

BEST UDDER CLASS
This class is offered to educate and inform breeders, exhibitors and the public of the importance of
the mammary system and how it relates to the form and function of productive and reproductive miniature zebu cattle.

 

PRODUCE OF SIRE
This class is two offspring of either sex, any age, out of the same Sire by at least two dams.
Both animals must have been shown in their respective age classes. 
Sire must be named, but can be owned by anyone and does not have to be owned by exhibitor.

COSTUME CLASSES Saturday, 2:00 pm
There is NO charge for the costume classes. Class may include any costume for both cattle and the exhibitors. Let your imagination go! Native costume is the cattle decoration of the ancient Hindu cattle that were and are still highly decorated and revered. It can be fresh or artificial flowers, exotic fabric and materials, anything that enhances the exotic look and romances the unique breed character and history of the Miniature Zebu Cattle. Some ideas are horn decoration, head dress and neck veils, body decoration, fancy halters etc. The costume class is free, and there will be a Trophy for the over-all winner.

 Rick Murpy will be donating cash money for the costume class winners, and TJ Gibson and his ranch will be donating $25 to the most creative costume.
